I was inspired by Riepenhoff and her use of nature and cyanotype prints. She used the effects of wind rain and sand to leave a mark on her cyanotype print. I love the natural look this gives the art. I also think about using some sort of photo manipulation like she used on her cyanotype in my own work.

I love Elsa Hansen Oldham and her work because of its simplicity. I love the small figures and I am especially drawn to the borders, and the layers of embroidered edges. I draw inspiration from her pieces of art because I would want to use similar embroidery techniques when applying my cyanotype prints to my piece of clothing.

I chose this image and this artist because I love the way he combines old famous paintings with modern settings. I draw inspiration from his use of the old painting. This gives me further inspiration of which works to use and how to possibly photoshop the subjects in the old paintings into modern settings instead of photoshopping modern subjects into the old painting.

Izziyana Suhaimi is an artist that combines drawings with embroidery in stunning portraits. My work relates to this artist in the way that we both use different medias to create a piece of art. While Suhaimi uses drawings layered with embroidery, I plan to use film prints with embroidered aspects.

Sara Cwynar is a contemporary artist that works with photography, collage, and other mediums. Sara's work includes vintage themed photographs that have a grunge feel to them. Similar to my photographs, we both use colored film in order to capture images. Additionally, my photos will appear grainy and outdated, giving a similar look to Cwynar's work. Lastly, our work is comparable in the sense that there is an overarching grungey feel that embodies all the photographs.

Zhamad Fullak is a film photographer who uses mainly 35mm cameras and polaroids. He mostly enjoys photographing in documentary style; capturing behind the scenes events. My style of photography is similar to Fullak's in the sense that we both use colored film. Also, by looking at the artwork, a common mood of dark and angst is developed. The same themes appear in my photography.
